Delmaine Egg Lasagne



Fresh egg noodles are used to create the traditional Italian baked dish. Although commonly layered with minced beef, lasagnes can be made, and are equally delicious, with seafood, vegetables or chicken. Delmaine egg lasagne offers a firm texture capable of high levels of sauce absorption for a perfect dish every time.

  • Quick ideas; Alternate layers of portobello mushrooms in butter sauce with layers of smoked chicken in Alfredo sauce, top with Alfredo sauce with extra Parmesan and fresh basil. Roll mince beef with garlic, ricotta and tomato paste in lasagne sheets and bake in tomato & garlic sauce.

For baked dishes, cooking not required. Cut lasagne into appropriate sizes and layer or fill with sauces and bake in moderate oven for 30mins. Or cut into small pieces and simmer for 2-3mins, stacking with appropriate ingredients

Canned beans should always be stored in cool cabinets away from appliances that produce heat. Dried beans should be stored in airtight containers and used within one year of purchase. The longer you keep the dry beans, the more moisture they lose. This means that older dry beans take longer to soak and cook compared to younger dry beans.

Often you don't have the  time to soak dried beans overnight and substituting with canned beans is a great option. But remember, dried beans nearyl double in weight and volume when soaked, so the rule of thumb when substituting is used two cans of beans for every cup of dried beans.
