A relative of the tomato, a member of the nightshade (Solanaceae) family and also related to cape gooseberries(phyalis), tomatillos provide that tart flavor in Mexican green sauces. Tomatillos are the main ingredients of green salsa, with out Tomatillos there would be no salsa! In Mexico the fruit is called Tomatillos or tomates verdes. La Costena Tomatillos can be used to make salsas or sauces and other dishes
